Now it’s official – TAI and NUTECH are training skills together!
Official kickoff took place on Tuesday, Sept 3 at Visitor and Innovation Centre Joki Turku, Finland and National University of Technology in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The process started over five years ago, and now after hard work by the teams of Turun kaupunki – Åbo stad – City of Turku, TAI – Turun ammatti-instituutti, Åbo yrkesinstitut and NUTech Pakistan , and generous support by the Migration Partnership Facility of EuropeanUnion, Finns are training Pakistanis in Pakistan over the next 3 years for hospitality and care assistant sectors.
Kickoff event was joined by Ambassador of Finland to Pakistan, H.E. Hannu Ripatti, First Secretary of Embassy of Pakistan to Sweden and Finland, Ms. Syeada Warda Bibi, Manager of International Affairs of City of Turku, Mr. Mika Akkanen, Rector of NUTECH Lt. Gen Moazzam Ejaz HI (M) Rtd, Team Leader of Governance and Human Capital Development of Delegation of European Union to Pakistan, Dr. Sébastien Lorion, Mr. Engr Gilani from Special Investment Facilitation Council of Pakistan, Project Manager Ms. Marleena Tuuri from TAI, Project Manager Mr. Toomas Lybeck from City of Turku and Mr. Wille Eerola, Hon. Consul General of Pakistan in Finland and Chairman of Finland Pakistan Business Council.

Project in a nutshell – Projektista lyhyesti:
“Pakistan-Finland International Cooperation – Vocational Talent and Mobility Boost (PAFIIC)” project is awarded and contracted in the framework of the Migration Partnership Facility (MPF), an EU-funded initiative implemented by ICMPD in support of the external dimension of the EU migration policy. Through its grants, the MPF facilitates the execution of projects to strengthen dialogue and cooperation on migration and mobility between Member States and partner countries outside the EU. The PAFIIC project comprises the development of a comparative analysis of educational curricula in Pakistan and Finland in the hospitality and care assistant sectors. Based on these studies, the project will develop a common curriculum and a train-the-trainer programme for Pakistani teachers, which will enable the sustainability of the training programme in the long term.
Pakistan-Finland International Cooperation – Vocational Talent and Mobility Boost (PAFIIC)” – hankkeen rahoitus on myönnetty Migration Partnership Facilityn (MPF) -aloitteen puitteissa. Kyseessä on EU:n rahoittama aloite, jota ICMPD toteuttaa EU:n maahanmuuttopolitiikan ulkoisen ulottuvuuden tukemiseksi. MPF-aloite tukee apurahoillaan sellaisten hankkeiden toteuttamista, joilla vahvistetaan siirtolaisuutta ja liikkuvuutta koskevaa vuoropuhelua sekä yhteistyötä jäsenvaltioiden ja EU:n ulkopuolisten kumppanimaiden välillä. PAFIIC-hanke toteuttaa vertailevan analyysin Pakistanin ja Suomen opetussuunnitelmista Hospitality- ja Care assistant -aloilla. Analyysin pohjalta hankkeessa kehitetään yhteistyössä opetussuunnitelma ja opetushenkilöstön koulutusohjelma, jotka mahdollistavat uusien osaajien kouluttamisen pitkällä aikavälillä.
