After hard work over the last two years, we were pleased to witness a virtual signing ceremony of MoU taking place today afternoon, with participants from both Pakistan and Finland. And what would be better way to start to celebrate the 70th Anniversary Year of Pakistan-Finland diplomatic relations!

National Vocational and Technical Training Commission of Pakistan (NAVTTC) and Turku Vocational Institute (TAI), Finland agreed today to enhance the cooperation in the field of technical and vocational education and training by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). 

The MoU between the two organizations covers wide number of areas including training of trainers and job specific trainings, mutual accreditation of technical and vocational training institutes, establishment of joint institutions for training and skill development in Pakistan, regular exchange of TVET trainers between Pakistan and Finland as well as mutual cooperation in development and implementation in the field of virtual training modules.

Virtual MoU signing ceremony took place over a virtual bridge from the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in Islamabad to TAI headquarters in Turku, Finland. This historical MoU was signed by Mr. Hannu Immonen, Principal of Turku Vocational Institute, Dr. Faheem Mohammad, Executive Director of NAVTTC, and witnessed by Mr. Wille Eerola, Hon. Consul General of Pakistan in Finland, Chairman of Finland Pakistan Business Council

“Best possible and modern skills are what the Pakistani youth do deserve and this is one very concrete step to such a development, supporting young population of Pakistan, their families and eventually development of whole nation”, says Wille Eerola, Hon. Consul General of Pakistan in Finland.

Speakers of this unique event included also Mrs. Farah Hamid Khan, Federal Secretary of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in Pakistan, Mr. Syed Javed Hassan, Chairman of NAVTTC, Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Additional Secretary of Federal Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in Pakistan as Ambassadors of both countries, H.E. Mr. Harri Kämäräinen, Ambassador of Finland to Pakistan and H.E. Zahoor Ahmed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Sweden and Finland.
